Hi people, this is AD back again with another topic.

Should you wax your car always after washing it?

Actually you should, no matter how much workshop service manager says not to.

They have their own reasons for telling you not to wax. They would always say, use it as it is, and whenever you feel the cars body is not smooth enough, take it back to us. We will get it polished for another round.

But, the thing is, the more you polish, thinner the clear coat becomes. Now don't get me wrong, you can get it polished by yourself or some professional in an interval of a year. That is something reasonable, polishing just to get the shine on your car is not what you want. Polishing can be done to remove the oxidised layer of your paint, which is to be done, only when it is of utmost necessity. Otherwise use some mirror glaze solution and a wax or a nice clay bar to get the desired shine and smoothness.

Wax preferably, Carnauba Wax is a hard natural substance, which forms an extra layer on your clear coat. Wax never depletes the clear coat. It actually fills up the minor scratches and forms an extra layer on your clearcoat. It is smooth to touch and is a lot more shinier that polymer wax.

When you wash your car, no matter what shampoo you are using, from Waxpol to Meguiars, each and everyone depletes a little of your wax layer. So, what you should do is after washing, dry your car it and give it a nice wax coat. Take a clean applicator pad or a microfibre cloth, apply the wax on the whole body and mirrors too, in straight lines and then work perpendicular to the previous motion.

Let it sit for sometimes, and then when it feels dry to touch, get another clean and dry microfibre towel and buff it out to get the desired shine and smoothness.

Wax protects your cars paint job from minute swirls and foreign microscopic objects and also from UV radiations. Even it won't catch any dirt and you can easily dust off with a microfibre cloth in a single wipe for about a week. And, it will help you on your next wash by dropping off water really fast.

And none the less, if it rains, the waxed paint job will lessen much of your work.

Now it's your decision. If you just use your car as a daily commute and don't care much about scratches and swirls then it's fine. But, if you really care about your car, then wax it each and every time you wash it. And another option you always have is, Teflon coating. I told this in my previous blog too.

See this. This is the shine I get each time I wax my car.

Thank you, singing off here today. See you guys the next day with some other topic on this series " Good vibes coming your way".
