Hey people, wether its a new car or an old car, interior is something which we all want to keep clean. With continuous usage, daily stress and tear, our interior turns out to become dull and faded and clumsy.
But, the thing is that, we spend half our life in our cars. So why not keep its interior clean? Once you superclean your interior, just maintain it and your car will feel like new, everytime you step in.
Okay, so how to superclean?
Now people have various ideas and various things to say regarding this, but I have my own way.
Things you will need are :
1. Vacuum Cleaner ( House-hold vacuum cleaner will also work.)
2. Glass Cleaner.
3. Soapy Water ( pH balanced soap, maybe a handwash diluted with water )
4. Micro-fibre cloth or 100% terry towel ( 3 units )
5. 3M Dashboard Dresser
6. Bullsone Leather Conditioner ( If you have a leather trim )
7. Chemical Guys New Car Smell Air Freshener ( Optional )
Now, since you have come to know what materials you need, collect those and please don't use any other harsh chemicals. I have tested these for a long time on my car and they work well. Kindly use the referred materials only.
Fix a cleaning session on a warm afternoon, when its not to sunny, but there is warmth and adequate light.
Remove all your foot-mats from your car and wash them separately.
If you have seat covers and steering covers, remove them too. And clean them separately later on.
Now, start vacuuming each and every corner of the interior. Even the roof upholstery. Check if theres any dust left off. If such, then brush them off and re-vacuum. In this step, we want to remove as much dust and foreign particles possible which are embedded in our upholstery.
After vacuum cleaning and dusting off your interior, grab a fresh and clean microfiber towel or a 100% terry towel and your glass cleaner, preferably Colin.
Spray the cleaner on your glass, one portion at a time and wipe off with the cloth/towel in a straight motion ( downward ). Complete all the glasses & then take a fresh microfiber cloth and wipe the glasses in the opposite direction ( upward ) and then sidewise once to remove any haze. This gives the glasses a neat shine. If you want more of it, then you can wax your glasses, but it's not necessary for the inside of your glasses. I will talk about waxing your windshield and glasses on my next blog.
Now take your soapy water and spray it on a micro-fiber cloth and clean your interior trims, one portion at a time. After cleaning the whole interior, take the dry microfiber cloth and give them a final wipe. If you have any leather trims, you can condition them with the leather conditioner.
At this point, your interior though is clean, will look a little dull. But don't worry, because the next steps are going to give your interior a neat and new like shine.
Ok,so now keep the interior aside and pass on to the Steering Wheel Cover and Seat Covers if any. Clean them with soapy water and then condition them with Leather Conditioner if you want.
Then install those back on your car and grab the 3M Dashboard Dresser. Spray it on your cloth and apply in a circular motion to all your interior trims. Don't overspray and don't even use too little. Use the adequate amount.
Now, just look at your interior. It's the new car you are taking delivery of. But, no.... doesn't it smell a little bit old ?
Want to remove that smell too? Grab the Chemical Guys New Car Air Freshener, shake it well and spray once in the front and then once in the back. Close all your doors and windows and let the smell act on your interior trims for a few hours, preferably 6 hours if possible. Then get into the car and spray once again in the middle and you are done. Your car's interior looks like new, smells like new and feels like new. But it's the old guy sweating and smelling. Hehe... Go and get yourself a shower and then be proud to drive it around the town and pick up your loved ones.

Yes, after supercleaning, just dust off on a regular basis, like thrice a week to keep your trims shining and once it feels dull again, after a month or two, get it supercleaned again. And you can always polish it with the dresser to get the shine with a twist of your hand.
